My Journey
I received my massage therapist certification through Southeast Technical College in Winona, MN. The massage and therapeutic techniques that I have studied include Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports, Hot Stone therapy, Kinesiology, Special Populations for pregnancy, Geriatrics for the Elderly, Body Wraps, Acupressure and Reflexology. I enjoyed learning about Essential Oils Chemistry, its benefits, Emotional Release with Essential Oils, and use of Healing oils of the Bible through the Center for Aromatherapy Research and Education. I also studied Biodynamic Craniosacral and Polarity Therapy and received certification in 1997 from the Colorado School of Energy Studies in Boulder, CO.
I acquired level I, II and Master level Reiki training in 1994 through Mary Durgin, Karuna Reiki Master from Melbourne, FL. I also obtained Karuna Reiki Master Level attunements in Holy Fire Karuna Reiki at Stonehenge in Wiltshire, England through William Lee Rand, International Center of Reiki Training. I am a Hospice volunteer for Winona Health in Winona, MN and have volunteered my massage services to assisted living and nursing homes within Wabasha and Winona County.
I have had a guided lifetime of love and support within my life through experience and upbringing that has lead me into a beautiful path of helping people to feel better. My mentor and true friend was my mother Helen Durgin, who was a respected Home-Health, Hospice and Respite Care volunteer. I was raised on a family farm and learned to live off the land, raising produce for co-ops and caring for animals. Much of this upbringing has brought me to where I am today.
Massage and bodywork are beneficial in reaching health goals, while attaining a sense of overall well-being. Knowing these benefits and seeing the health differences they make, have opened my eyes and heart to serve others. I find pure enjoyment in using these practices to help people achieve an overall mind and body wholeness. Through this work I have been able to connect with my inner spirituality and grow from within. I love connecting with people through this work and know I have found my calling.
